Lise Buyer is founder and Managing Partner of the Class V Group, an organization providing strategic and logistical guidance to companies contemplating or in the process of an initial public offering. Ms. Buyer founded Class V group to leverage her unique perspective on the equity markets gained from having first hand experience as an institutional investor, investment banker, venture capitalist, board member and internal IPO strategist and project manager. Previously, Ms. Buyer was the Director of Business Optimization for Google where she was one of the chief architects of the company’s innovative IPO and as a result, a recipient of a Google Founders’ Award, the highest employee accolade. Post Google’s IPO, she established the firm’s investor relations department and was subsequently awarded with the “Best Investor Relations for an IPO” designation in an industry magazine poll of 3000 institutional investors.
Previously, she had a long career in the investment industry, including as a buy side investor, sell side analyst and as a venture capitalist. Through early 2000, she was Director of the Internet/New Media research practice for Credit Suisse First Boston, during which time the quality of her research was ranked #1 in the highly regarded Greenwich Associates poll. She came to investment banking as an institutional investor from T. Rowe Price Associates, where she was responsible for the firms’ investments in desktop technology. She began her career on Wall Street as an analyst of both the technology and entertainment industries. Ms. Buyer was Chairman of the Independent Directors of the Board for Greenfield Online (NASDAQ: SRVY) until Microsoft acquired the company. She holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen School as an Owen Merit Scholar. She is a past Trustee of the Nichols School and was a Charter member of the TED Braintrust and a Fellow of the Davos World Economic Forum.
