Adam Aguilera is currently an MBA candidate at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Before enrolling in school, Adam worked as an Investment Grade Corporate Bond Trader at Jefferies in New York City. He spent more than four years in the role and traded across multiple sectors, most notably in bonds with shorter-term maturities. Following this role, he worked briefly at VentureOut, a startup accelerator dedicated to helping international startups prepare to expand their operations to the US. While at Sloan, Adam has strived to understand the challenges within the domestic healthcare system. This stems not only from an interest in general health and wellness, but also from the significant potential he sees in providing preventive education to individuals from underprivileged communities. In this regard, he has completed projects for multiple healthcare startups and organizations in the Boston area, including Leuko Labs and Suburban Home Health Care. Additionally, last summer, he had the opportunity to intern at Kapor Capital, a social-impact venture capital firm located in Oakland, CA. During his time there, he focused on the sourcing and diligence of promising digital health startups while also completing a project for a portfolio company in the same space.
Adam received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yale University. He enjoys traveling, cooking, and trying new types of cuisines that might be hard to come by domestically. As a Bay Area native, he is a deeply loyal 49ers and Warriors fan and has always fostered a special love for a variety of sports.
