Laura Mezey is a transformational global life sciences leader, with a focus on strategy development and implementation, culture change and compliance developed during 20 years at Bayer as a general counsel and member of the executive leadership teams at 2 global healthcare divisions, and as an M&A executive. She has extensive experience in value creation through global expansion, acquisitions, divestitures or re-direction or restructure of the business, a passion for mentoring and a deep knowledge of compliance and risk management in highly regulated industries in the US and internationally.
Laura has experience in both growth and commoditizing markets. She has facilitated the integration of diverse businesses across different countries, driving new value propositions and go-to-market strategies, including co-leading a multi-year culture change program to create an entrepreneurial, proactive culture. She has spearheaded global risk management planning and has extensive experience managing compliance and regulatory issues in the US and internationally, including decisions on whether and how to enter and exit international markets, such as China, Brazil and Japan.
She has broad deal experience, including forming and governing joint ventures, acquiring start-ups with adjacent technologies, negotiating and managing alliances to grow market share and divesting non-core businesses.
She is passionate about mentoring and coaching, was a founding member of Bayer HealthCare’s Women Leadership Initiative, and has mentored within Bayer as well for Women Unlimited.
