Amelia is a recent graduate of Tulane University, where she earned two degrees - a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Business. In her free time, Amelia is very passionate about giving back to her community through volunteer work. Throughout her time in New Orleans, she devoted over 300 hours to community service by working at the Orleans Public Defenders Office and the Alliance for Affordable Energy.
Amelia is truly passionate about healthcare and had the opportunity to intern at the Fogarty Institute for Innovation alongside Dr. Thomas Fogarty at his med-tech startup incubator. At the Fogarty Institute, Amelia worked with the CEO and CTO of a startup that invented a technology to improve the accuracy of care for newborn asphyxia. She conducted extensive needs finding and healthcare industry research and ultimately developed and presented their next product that is a technology to improve the accuracy of care for Sepsis in hospitals.
