Ann Pongsakul is a fourth-year medical student at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She is planning to pursue residency training in family medicine. Much of her past research work is on health care systems and social determinants of health, as her undergraduate focus was on public health and global health. She interned at the World Health Organization in Switzerland and learned about health policy creation and advocacy work. During medical school Ann joined a medical student health innovation interest group MD++, where she developed a huge interest in startups and venture capital. She is currently a product strategy intern at Lingua Franca Therapeutics, learning about creating digital health solutions for health care providers.
Ann hopes to combine her interests in digital health and venture capital with her interests in health care systems innovation, genetics, geriatrics, neurological disorders, and mental health disorders. In her free time, Ann likes learning new languages, trying to become a better cook, and traveling.
