Benjamin is a current 4th year medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and plans to pursue a career in academic surgery- with interests in cardiac, thoracic, and oncologic surgery. He graduated with “Honors in the Major” distinction from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Biomedical and Physical Sciences). He then went on to earn two master’s degrees before starting medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Since undergrad he has been involved with research and publishing articles in immunotherapy, cellular therapy, gene therapy, stem cell technologies, and surgical outcomes. During medical school, he was actively involved in the Florida Medical Association-representing medical students throughout the state.
He has recently joined the Canes Angel Network to be part of an interdisciplinary team of graduate business, law, and medical students under the direction of an experienced managing director to review UM related startups.
In his free time, Ben enjoys running, playing tennis and soccer, going to concerts, playing saxophone, traveling, and taking care of his two cats.
