Emily Stotland, B. Eng
|
Originally from Boston, Emily is a senior from McGill University who is passionate about the intersection of investing, healthcare, and technology. After experience in research at the Toronto General Hospital, she developed a desire to drive innovation through application within the medical field, which led her to transfer to pursue a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering. Part of her work as an engineering student has included working with the biomechanics lab at McGill to develop an improved model of the polymeric catheter coating. As an Intern Analyst in Equity Trading at CPPIB, Emily became interested in capital markets, and their ability to create positive impact within different sectors. During her time in the Private Equity Group at Bain & Company, Emily conducted diligence on businesses within the technology sector, and further developed her passion for investing, specifically with a positive impact. She continues to explore this intersection in her role on the Investment Team at Front Row Ventures, where she helps support and invest in student founders of early stage technology companies.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys dancing, playing volleyball, and most importantly – spending quality time with her golden doodle! Emily also loves travelling and learning about different cultures, and has spent time studying abroad in Asia and the Middle East.
