Kristina loves taking new technology from the research lab to patients and health care providers. She completed her Ph.D. at the London Centre for Nanotechnology, focusing on mobile phone connected point-of-care tests for infectious diseases (thesis title: Next Generation Biosensors for Biophysical Characterisation and Detection of Viruses). Having left home in Germany at age 16 to go to high school in India helped her understand the role that access to health care plays in economic development and in individual’s lives. After completing her formal education, Kristina worked in industry to understand the development path for health technology, including regulatory affairs, clinical operations and market access. She is passionate about following the data and will spend hours poring over published research and patents for fun.
A recent transplant from London, Kristina is a proud new member of the Bay Area health tech community. She ran the Berlin marathon last year and hopes to improve on her time by training in hilly San Francisco.
