Originally from Russia, Mark immigrated at a young age to London, UK where he learned English and French and attended high school. He is interested in the promotion of Gen Z-led entrepreneurship as a means of improving people’s lives around the world. Through his experience in consulting & biopharmaceutical equity research, he developed an interest in medical innovation. Since then, after co-organising a global COVID-focused Hackathon, https://www.covidchallenge.co.uk/ - he has developed a keen interest in medical technologies like gene-editing and is always on the lookout for new cross-sector solutions, combining EdTech, Sustainable-Tech or other services together with MedTech. He is very excited to grow out his expertise in this area and is seeking to apply his current and future experience in venture capital towards helping fledgling innovations succeed.
Mark is likewise very passionate about SaaS solutions and marketplace models, especially in developing markets – and is keen on promoting private sector investments as a sustainable way of growing out nascent entrepreneurial ecosystems in Sub-Saharan Africa, CIS countries and SEA. He is an entrepreneur himself and is actively working in developing several ideas to greater visualise start-ups in such emerging markets.
He loves travelling, is a massive foodie and really enjoys discussing crazy Loonshot ideas or innovations.
