Matthew is a South African physician committed to creating equitable, technology-enabled solutions to Public Health challenges. During his studies at the best medical school in Africa, he was recognized as a top undergraduate researcher for his work on Global Health training and co-founded a government-backed healthcare incubator program. Matthew has three years of clinical experience working in South Africa’s public health system. Concurrently, Matthew co-founded an award-winning digital health start-up which utilizes a WhatsApp chatbot to support chronic medication users.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Matthew is now pursuing a dual graduate degree in Public Health and business with a focus on health system strengthening through cost-effective technology and innovative financing. In addition, Matthew is exploring a career in healthcare strategy consulting and investment. Matthew is an avid football fan (not the American kind), hiker and music enthusiast.
