Sylvia is an MBA student at Duke University who is passionate about creating a positive impact through her career. Prior to business school, Sylvia was the co-founder of Empactful. Empactful is a FinTech robo-advisory startup, or an online wealth management firm, that focuses on impact investments for both retail and institutional clients. Sylvia has experience working as COO and CMO of the firm, as well as leading her software development team as a product manager. At Empactful, Sylvia led and managed 30+ employees and contractors across technology and marketing. Sylvia has previous experience working at an event driven and special situations hedge fund.
Sylvia loves to travel, and some of her favorite vacations have been horseback riding through the Scottish Highlands, sailing the Greek Islands and hiking glaciers in Iceland. A native New Yorker, Sylvia supports local NYC initiatives in education and the arts. Sylvia speaks Greek and French and is learning Italian and Spanish. Sylvia believes in the power of technology to make human lives better and to create a positive impact for society at large.
