Valentine is currently an MPH/MBA student at Johns Hopkins University where she is seeking to improve global access to digital health innovations. Prior to graduate school, Valentine was working in a project management role for a USAID implementing partner in Washington, DC. She supported the implementation of economic development programs in the Republic of Georgia, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka. Valentine also served in the Peace Corps and taught middle school chemistry and physics in Guinea. Her interest in digital health and diagnostics stemmed from research experience in undergrad where she was working on developing a paper test card that would detect contaminants in milk. This experience sparked her interest in how technologies with a public health impact can be implemented and commercialized in resource-limited settings. Her goal while in graduate school is to further explore the intersection of technology and healthcare and better understand how to get innovations out of the lab and into the market.
Valentine is originally from Brussels, Belgium, and enjoys spending time outdoors in her spare time.
