Yuna is a Japanese physician and MPH/MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins University. She has a multicultural upbringing in two different countries, US and Japan, which has nurtured her intercultural sensibility as well as future interest in building global partnerships to tackle challenges in health.
Her passion lies in women’s health issues, and in parallel with clinical work at major hospitals in Japan, has worked to promote cervical cancer prevention through research and evidence-based advocacy. She also has experience in health policy, on antimicrobial resistance at the World Health Organization and physicians’ labor reform with the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
Currently, she is exploring the VC ecosystem, merging her clinical expertise with innovative solutions to create lasting value in the healthcare industry. In her free time, she loves cooking, photography, and watching K-dramas on Netflix.
